THE EXTERNAL LENS

At The Payroll Advisory Co we like to reflect on the value we can add to our clients. Our value does not come in a single deliverable, but we find that we can support many key decision makers by building trust within your payroll team.

We do this by being independent and external to your business.

The value of an External Lens is that if there is a known problem, or a need for assurance that “everything is ok”, we can step back from the detail that your team is sitting in, and break it down into real life payroll scenarios.

We like to look at the big picture – not just the end point of the payroll outcomes, and this is looking at People, Technology and Process, which includes aligning internal policy and external compliance requirements.

We do not approach our advisory services like other external auditors or non-payroll specific consultancies. With deep payroll knowledge, and a known understanding of key industry risks, we work backwards to look at how your business is working, and what the true risks or gaps to close may be.  They are tailored to your business.

A payroll operating cycle is constant. There is often little room to break from the day the day outputs, to step back and make improvements or changes. Our value of being external is to help break that constant cycle, which may result in small change that will have a valuable impact.

By using a specific payroll advisory services, you will have someone assessing the function on the functional, operational, and strategic but also to make it commercial. We are still very hands on in clients to not be so removed from the real world of payroll, we are not just providing consulting advice. We still are keeping in touch with what successful payroll delivery needs to be - which is a true point of difference.

The Payroll Advisory Co prefers to partner with your Payroll team, and not be an external “fault or fact checker” that they need to feel uncomfortable working with. We support the payroll team in articulating areas that need to change and how best to separate the detail to the high-level call outs to the people that need to know.

Payroll compliance does not sit still for long. If there is ever a time for the External Lens to help set up transformation, operating model or change projects – and if you have the budget to do so, the best time to start planning, is now.
